23-20 Win on Monday Night Football in OT

Wow, what a game. The Steelers were down 10 points at halftime and went through three running backs during the game. Jeff Reed kicked the game winning field goal in overtime to get the Steelers their 3rd win of the season. The Steelers defeated the Ravens 23-20.


Steelers beat by Eagles 15-6

The Eagles were too much too handle. They scored everyway possible: touchdown, safety, and a couple of field goals. Roethlisberger looked as if he was in a slump all game, only converting half of his passes (13-25). He had 131 yards and threw an INT as well. The rushing game was nowhere to be seen either with Willie Parker only totalling 20 yards for the entire game on 13 attempts.


Steelers defeat the Browns 10-6

It wasn’t nearly as offensive explosive as week 1, but the Steelers still managed to pull off the victoy. Roethlisberger had 186 yards on 12 for 19 passing and 1 TD. Willie Parker had his second straight 100+ yd game and the defense had two interceptions on Derek Anderson, as the Steelers go 2-0 by beating the Browns 10-6.


Steelers win season opener

Ben Roethlisberger led the Steelers today with a stellar performance. He converted 13 of his 14 attempts for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns. Both of the touchdowns went to Hines Ward who had over half of the 137 yards that Roethlisberger had thrown for. Tack on three rushing touchdowns and 138 rushing yards from Willie Parker, and the Steelers had an easy win over the Texans, 38-17.


Roster cut to 53 players

The Steelers roster was trimmed down to 53 yesterday after placing QB Charlie Batch on the reserve/injured list and by releasing 22 other players. Batch broke his collarbone against the Philadelphia Eagles in the preseason opener game. Some of the notable players that were released were LB Arnold Harrison, LB Mike Humpal, S Ryan Mundy. Other players included: LB Patrick Bailey, WR/KR Eddie Drummond, P Paul Ernster, FB Billy Latsko, OG Doug Legursky, OG Matt Lentz, CB Roy Lewis, S Grant Mason, DE Ryan McBean, OT Jeremy Parquet, DT Scott Paxson, DE Jordan Reffett, WR Willie Reid, WR Micah Rucker, TE Dezmond Sherrod, TE Lee Vickers, RB Justin Vincent and CB Travis Williams.


Steelers win final preseason game

The Steelers closed out their preseason with a win against the Carolina Panthers with a score of 19-16. They finished the preseason with a 3-1 record.
